Adobe Announces CS6, Ships May 7th?

Adobe Unveils CS6 Production Premium

At the stroke of midnight (EST) on April 23rd as promised Adobe announced the creative suite 6 on their website. CS6 includes all the applications we’ve been introduced to over the past couple of months.

Adobe® Creative Suite® 6 software delivers a whole new experience for digital media creation, enabling you to work lightning fast and reach audiences wherever they may be. Now, for the first time, CS applications are also available through Adobe Creative Cloud™, giving you the flexibility to download and install them at any time. Plus, access additional applications, publishing services, and new products and features as they are released.

In addition, pricing for the programs was also announced. According to Adobe’s buying guide, here are the standard prices in USD:

  • Photoshop: $699
  • Photoshop Extended: $999
  • Illustrator: $599
  • InDesign: $699
  • Muse: $14.99 per month
  • Flash: $699
  • Dreamweaver: $399
  • Fireworks: $299
  • Premiere Pro: $799
  • After Effects: $999
  • Audition: $349
  • SpeedGrade: $999

Adobe is also offering the following packages:

  • Design Standard: $1,299
  • Design & Web Premium: $1,899
  • Production Premium: $1,899
  • Master Collection: $2,599
  • Creative Cloud: $49.99 per month

According to B&H Photo Video, CS6 pre-orders will ship May 7thWhile Adobe has not officially announced the release date for these applications and just says pre-orders will begin shipping in less than 30 days, B&H Photo Video says you can pre-order these programs on their website and it will ship after May 7th. So it sounds like May 7th could be the day. EditingWhiz will be sure to update you when we know for sure.
